Culminating Event: Molecular Art Exhibition on Halloween at the Durham Farmer’s Market

Durham Farmer's Market directions

Come to the Durham Farmer’s Market to see VAHS Biology students exhibit their Molecular Art projects. They’ve been working hard designing, creating, and reviewing these works of art, so drop by to explore the driving question – How does life inspire art?

When: Saturday, October 31 from 10am – 12pm

Where: 501 Foster St, Durham, NC 27701

What: Art exhibition of “Molecular Art” by Voyager Academy High School Students

Art has always been inspired by our wonder of nature and the life birthed from it. The foundation of this precious life emerges from the structures and functions of just four types of amazing molecules: Nucleic Acids, Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Lipids. The biology students of Voyager Academy High School were asked to create a piece of art inspired by one of the four biomolecules. Their art aims to deconstruct the relationships between molecular form, function, and life itself to make their own unique statements.
